Two-Step Verification is when there is an extra layer of protection added to an account by requiring two pieces of evidence when logging in. Oftentimes this is seen as entering your username and password and then getting an SMS code sent to your phone or a link sent to your email to verify your account information. Here at NAU we use Two-Step Verification using the DUO app available for Android or iOS, or a Two-Step fob that can be obtained by visiting our Help Desk located in the Cline Library or calling NAU ITS Service Desk at 928–523–3335. Here are 5 simple steps on how to enroll in Two-Step Verification at NAU:
1. Enroll here by entering your NAU credentials.
2. Then click “Start Enrolling in Two-Step Verification” or “Manage Devices”
3. Follow the on-screen prompts and download the DUO mobile app.
4. Scan the QR code displayed on the screen, open the DUO app, click the “+” button at the top and scan the QR code to add the NAU entry to your DUO app.
5. Then click through the final prompts and you’re all done! You are all enrolled in Two-Step verification.
